How do I control the motorcycle?
Use arrow keys or WASD on desktop, or touch controls on mobile. Up/W accelerates, Down/S brakes, and Left/A or Right/D leans your bike forward or backward to maintain balance on hills.
What happens if my bike flips over?
If your motorcycle flips or crashes, you'll need to restart the level. Focus on maintaining proper balance by leaning in the right direction when going up or down hills.
Does the game support landscape mode on mobile?
Yes, and it's the intended way to play on a phone - Rift Racer switches to a landscape orientation layout on mobile so you get the same width of track visibility you'd have on a desktop screen.
Are there weather or environmental effects during a race?
Yes. Tracks include water surfaces with splash physics on impact and dynamic weather touches layered over the terrain, on top of the base hill geometry you're already balancing against.
Will the race keep running if my connection drops?
Yes. Once the track has loaded, the whole race is being simulated by your own browser, so losing signal mid-run will not stall the car or kick you out. What you do need a connection for is opening the page in the first place - nothing is stored on your device between visits, so you have to be online each time you come back to it.
What's the best strategy for steep hills?
Build up speed before the hill, lean forward to keep your front wheel down, and maintain steady acceleration. Avoid sudden movements that could cause you to lose balance or flip backward.
How are scores calculated?
Your performance is based on reaching the finish line quickly and safely. Faster completion times with fewer crashes will earn you better results on each track.
